          Dear Mr. Nash,

I've been having a bit of trouble writing this letter to thank you. It's long over due, pardon me.

I want to thank you for the wonderful information you gave me about Steve, We never knew he was with the 75th Rangers. All we knew was that he was in a LRRP Co.

Also, I want to thank you for the gift of the Rangers and LRRP flashes. I have them mounted in a frame on gold background.

I am sure that through your efforts, I have received two phone calls from to great guys, gentleman I should say, who also served with Steve.

Another thank you is in order for the invitation to the Ranger Reunion June 30th - July 4th. But, due to health problems I will be unable to attend.

I also read in one of your news bulletins you were asking for donations for your auction to help defray expenses of the hospitality room. Pleas accept my check for my share. I give in memory of CPT STEPHEN J. CHANEY and all the men of LLRP Detachment 196 Light Infantry, E Co. (Long Patrol) 51st Infantry Regiment, G Co. (Ranger) 75th Infantry Regiment and 5th Special Forces. All gave some; some gave all who served in Vietnam and/or around the world.

May the Good Lord take a liking to them and they are in heave 3 days before the devil knows they died.

Good luck and God bless each and every one of you. You are forever in my heart and prayers.

          Sincerely yours,

          Kenneth D Chaney
